As many of you know, we lost our beloved friend and brother Taylor Emmons in a tragic accident last year. We miss him every day and are constantly searching for ways to commemorate his incredible legacy. Shortly after his death, the Taylor Emmons Scholarship Fund was created in his name.
The Taylor Emmons Scholarship Fund will provide opportunities for socio-economically diverse students to experience an independent, college p...reparatory education at The Out-of-Door Academy's Upper School. They will learn in an environment which allows students to strive to achieve their highest academic goals and build character through a balanced program of academics, the arts and athletics.
The foundation’s goal is to raise $1,000,000 to have four students attend the Out-of-Door Academy through scholarships from The William Taylor Emmons Memorial Foundation.
In conjunction with the on-campus group Students for Traffic Safety, Sigma Chi will be hosting a sand soccer tournament on our volleyball court to raise money for the Taylor Emmons Scholarship fund. The event will be on Sunday October 23rd and will be a 3 vs 3 tournament (Teams may contain 4 players with a sub). Teams also may be co-ed but it is not required. The buy-in will be $20 ($5 per team member) and there will also be 'Temmons' shirts on sale for anyone who wants them.
